Goldfrapp are known for electro-pop dance music set to a heavy dose of four-on-the-floor kick drum. Their new record "Seventh Tree" has a more melodic Imogen Heap type sound which, to my ear, fits very well.
Glen and I have discussed this song quite a bit, and I feel he hit the nail on the head when he described it as "very 70s childhood comfy am radio". I really like the acoustic-meets-electronica aspect of the production, but I think it all works because it supports a great song.
