The Apple Backlash Has Begun...

And Nokia is leading the way.No email and no calendar entry on the iPod Touch, no third party apps on the iPhone, and Amazon has a better music store than iTunes. Apple's consumer electronics division has stopped listening to the consumer, and the tide will turn.

Reasons I won't buy an iPhone (Logic vs Lust)

  • It's a Phone and an iPod. I use my iPod when I run and when I'm going to sleep in a hotel. I don't want my iPod to ring in either of these situations.
  • I keep my phone in my pocket; it's going to get scratched, sat on, dropped and generally beat up. I'll subject my carrier subsidized cheap phone to that, thanks.
  • Look at the first generation iPod versus the later models. iPhone 2.0 is where it's at. I'm personally waiting for 3G.
  • It's going to cost $600. That's almost half a MacBook Pro. That's and XBox 360 plus an iPod. That's just shy of a 37" HDTV. That's 30 Lava Lamps.
  • Oh yeah... I pretty much hate phones in general. Text is where it's at. I don't need to spend $600 to text.

Cingular owes me a new phone but I'm through lusting after the iPhone.
